OWINGS MILLS, MD — A membership-only wholesale club will open in September in Owings Mills. Costco announced that its grand opening at Mill Station will be Sept. 20.
Mill Station is the former site of the Owings Mills Mall.
Costco is opening a new 148,000-square-foot store there as the area undergoes redevelopment. The members-only superstore will include a deli, bakery, food court, garden center, optical department, photo center and gas station.
Kimco Realty is developing Mill Station, which authorities say will encompass 640,000 square feet when it is complete.
The Owings Mills Mall on Mill Run Circlelocked its doorsin September 2015 and has since been demolished. Mill Station is the new open-air shopping center that is being built in its place.
Tenants already located at Mill Station are AMC Theatres, Chido's Tex-Mex Grill, Greene Turtle, Olive Garden, Red Lobster and Red Robin, Baltimore County officials report.
Costco will be located at 10270 Mill Run Circle, Owings Mills, MD 21117.
It will be the only Costco on the western side of Baltimore County; the closest stores are in Elkridge in Howard County, Hanover in Anne Arundel County and Middle River in east Baltimore County.
Thegrand openingof the Owings Mills Costco will run from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20.
Want to sign up for a Costco membership? The store is operating out of a temporary location at 11000 Owings Mills Boulevard, Suite 5, where people can enroll. New members will be able to get a special offer through Oct. 31.
